Below are several frequently asked questions and answers that can help.

When do we find out what team we are on?
Teams are selected and given to Coaches  end of August. If you do not here from a coach by September 1, please contact the division coordinator for your players division.  E-mail address are on the Staff page under the "About Us" tab.  We always need Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers, so please sign up.

What time is practice and were is practice for 6U and older? The practice time and location of practice is determined by the individual Coach. The Coach will most likely be one of the player’s parents. They will advise you when practice will occur.

Why were no programs available for my player?   If a division is full, the system will place your player on the waitlist at no cost to you.  We might be able to expand the teams in that division or a player may drop and we can move waitlisted player(s) into the division, but your player needs to be on the waitlist. Not all players registered after the deadline will be placed on a team, but we will do our best

Why is my player on a waitlist? In order to form teams we need an even number of teams with the right amount of players on each team.  So that we do not register too many players, we established soft limits.  As soon as enough players to make two more teams are formed and we are confident that we can get coaches, we will move your player off the waitlist.  If we do not have enough players to form two teams, we often are able to place players on other teams as we often have players drop, even after the season has started.

Why is my 14 year old player on 19U? Our 19U division has always been a combination of 16U and 19U players.   Please know that we have mixed younger and older players together for years with good success.

I am having problems registering as a volunteer. What do I do? First thank you for volunteering to help. Please take a screen shot of where you have a problem and e-mail the registrar with the screen shot and your problem.

How do I register my player? Registration can be done at www.ayso688.org and click the “register now” button at the top right corner of the website.

What does it cost to play Fall 2021 Soccer? We have very low costs for youth sports in the area.  There is a $20 fee paid to AYSO National for each player in the season year you register. There is also a $2.75 processing fee to Sports Connect per transaction.  These fees are not refundable should you withdraw your child.

What comes with the registration? 8 weeks of soccer, numbered player jersey, shorts, and socks; pictures; end of season award and player insurance.  4U program is a 6 week season and will receive t-shirt and socks.

What is the refund policy?  Any player, who withdraws prior to the seasons first game, will receive a full refund LESS the cost of the AYSO National Registration Fee and Region Administrative Fee (Total $25.00) provided that the parent/guardian submits a request for a refund.  Please email a [email protected] to request a refund form.  No refunds after first games.

Are scholarships available? Yes, on a need basis.  Most families will be required to contribute towards some of the costs. Please email the registrar  for information.

How do I volunteer? When you register your player, it will ask you to volunteer as coach, assistant coach, referee or team manager. Sign up and complete the volunteer registration request, including all your personal information.

What type of programs are offered by AYSO 688? We offer a variety of programs depending on the player’s age.

Playground (4U): For children who are born in 2018.  The children learn soccer skills like kicking, dribbling, and throwing in the ball, but in a low-pressure setting and through fun games. There are not set teams and the activities are only on Saturday.

6U-19U:  Considered the core of AYSO, 6U will practice once a week with 8U through 19U up to twice a week with games on Saturday.  There are some 14U games played on Friday nights.  Travel throughout the valley and possibly Globe and Wickenburg can be likely for the 16/19U divisions.

VIP: For players whose physical or mental special needs make it difficult for them to successfully participate on mainstream soccer teams.  No practice during the week, just Saturday activity/games.

Are there any coed teams?  VIP, 4U and 6U - all else will be separate divisions.

Can I request a coach or a player?  We allow player and coach requests, but are not always able to honor those requests. You can make requests in the player registration process.

When does Fall Season Start? For 4U and older, the first game is generally in September.   You will be receiving notification closer to these dates.  Dates are subject to change.

What time are my games? For 6U and older, the games will vary each week from 8:00 am to 1:00pm  Schedules are posted early September.

Who do I contact if I still have questions or issues?   Email [email protected] and your question will be forwarded to the corresponding board member.

If you have questions about the VIP program please e-mail Logan.
